About
I studied for my Part 1 at The Arts University Bournemouth, The main focus of this university is a very creative and cross-collaborative curriculum that encourages its students to not only pursue interests within architecture but to work with other disciplines to bring ideas to life. this enabled me to not only learn the basics of architecture but to develop my collaboration and team working skills. This culminated in a number of events such as co-curating the FAT (fashion, architecture, textiles) exhibition, the team I lead winning the live brief for the Larma Tree Festival, and the Dementia Poole 24 hour competitions. I also assisted with Atmospheres River of light community project. As part of this degree, I became adept at a number of architectural software packages such as the AutoDesk Suite and Google Sketchup.
After my BA I worked for TKStairs where my main responsibilities spanned from the first point of contact sales to factory construction drawings and advising clients on a solution. This allowed me to develop client relationship building skills, Understanding of building regulations, and in particular part K.
Returning to my Part 2, in the 1st year I pursued Research Led Design this gave me a lot of freedom and independence to follow my own work and develop self-motivation, time management, and independent working skills. In my second year, I studied in a very collaborative environment that focused on the merging of digital and physical architecture, during this time I learned a number of software packages such as 3DSMax, Cinema4D, and Unreal engine. I also developed skills in collaborative working, verbal, written, and drawn communication, and my presentation skills.
Whilst undertaking my Part 2 I was also firstly a contributor to the OSA magazine and in my second year was on the Committee of the magazine as Treasurer, Sponsor liaison, and Senior Editor. This greatly improved my architectural writing and organisation skills, as well as giving me a taste of what it is like to work with multiple contributors and stakeholders to very tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment. This magazine has a number of
sponsors and continues to be sold in the RIBA.
Currently, I am working at City Demolition as a CAD technician. I have learnt many skills particularly on-site and have continued to improve my digital capabilities. My ultimate goal is to continue to my part 3.

Eluding or dodging
Recoil and delay
Escape from the ‘real world’
Or evasion of blame
Do we retreat to understand?
Or do we depart from reality
To embrace the delusion.
