Dreaming in neon

Using neon wire I have begun to experiment with how this could be manipulated. Influenced by Tracy Emin, I attempted a handwriting neon in a box (for transport). Different textures were added to the box to see how this would be affected by the light.

Next, I embedded the neon wire into plaster, this began to make the wire more spacial. Where the wire stayed close to the surface of the plaster, the light glowed through the plaster (this may be something to consider).

Prehaps the most interesting experiment is, reimagine Oxford gargoyles and grotesques using neon. This was a way of understanding neon as an architectural ornement and how this could be intergrated into the city.

Photographing neon is part of the challenge of this project. The photos below are a sample of different photography methods.
